Institut de Français, UBC à Québec

Three-week immersion program for teachers!

July 2-20, 2018

This residential three-week (19 days) program is designed specifically for teachers. Offered in a private college, situated in the historic setting of les Plaines d’Abraham, it gives participants the opportunity to enjoy a park-like setting while being just minutes away from la vieille ville.

The Collège Mérici, offers a relaxing environment in which to study French while the city next door offers all the excitement of a summer vacation. The 11-day Quebec Summer Festival takes place during the Institute and with the early purchase of a festival pass, one can attend many wonderful spectacles.

For 25 years, the Institut de Français, UBC à Québec, was administered by Continuing Studies. Starting in 2017, the institute is now administered by the Faculty of Education (PDCE). It is still the same non-credit institute, with the same teachers, on the beautiful campus of Collège Mérici in Quebec City.

This program is specifically designed for BC teachers but teachers from other provinces or states and non-teachers are welcome.

Funding for BC teachers is provided by the Department of Canadian Heritage of the Government of Canada. Bursaries for BC teachers are now administered by the Department of Professional Development & Community Engagement of the Faculty of Education, UBC, for the French Programs Unit of the BC Ministry of Education.
